Welcome

Welcome and thank you for looking at our website; we hope you have fun seeing all of the exciting things that make us who we are!

Spaxton is a thriving and popular school based on the foot of the Quantock Hills and enjoys its place in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We were judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection, which is testament to our nurturing ethos and high standards for good outcomes for all children.

Our vision for 2020 is based around six core values, which are interpreted from Corinthians Chapter 13:

Those who belong to our school: protect, trust, have hope, persevere, show courage and rejoice.

With these six values at the heart of our school life and curriculum, we look to develop the whole child through play, academic rigour and use of the outdoors. Whether this is through the arts, sport or entrepreneurism, we are passionate about facilitating opportunities for our children to apply their learning in real life contexts so that they are ready to explore and question the world they live in.

We welcome any opportunity to share our work. If you would like to visit us and see how we work and play, please contact the office to make an appointment.

Mr James Blackmore

Headteacher

We are members of the Quantock Group (linked with Haygrove Secondary School and Otterhampton, Cannington, Nether Stowey,St Mary's,Enmore and Stogursey Primary Schools). This gives us the opportunity to share teacher expertise and expensive equipment among the schools. The children work together on a variety of topics throughout the year.
